Introduction: Welcome!

Thank you for checking in with this new blog.

I will be updating this blog weekly to address interesting issues arising in connection with my legal practice, which focuses on New Jersey based civil litigation.

I am Senior Counsel at LeClair Ryan, working in our Newark, NJ office.  My practice is divided primarily into tort defense and estate litigation, so these are two areas that I will be focusing on.  I also do what can be considered general commercial litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in connection with commercial disputes, typically contract disputes.

I began my law practice in 2001 and have worked at some of the larger firms in New Jersey before joining a firm, LeClair Ryan, with a significant regional presence from Virginia to Boston, with additional offices in Michigan, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.  This will allow me to assist many more of my national clients and better coordinate their representation.

My BL (before-law) life included years as a chef in a wide variety of restaurants, from classical French and Italian to local brew pubs.  My legal career has only opened new opportunities for me to foodie-out, between fresh (as in still alive hours ago) turkeys for Thanksgiving from an Amish farm, to a freezer full of seasonal pestos, roasted garlic, and sauces, as well as fresh herbs hanging by nearly every window all summer long.

The byproduct of this is my wonderful three year-old daughter who enjoys Thai food and was soothed through sleepless nights as an infant by sniffing her way through the spice pantry.  While Kohlrabi was not one of her first five words, it was high on the list.

That's about it, welcome aboard!  I'll try to keep it interesting and informative.
